“They Stole the Show”, a Musical Performance
A Steve Story Honorary Concert to be held at Union Sunday School

CLERMONT – For over twenty-five years, Steve Story wrote and performed musical organ concerts that were held each year at the Union Sunday School in Clermont. His performances featured local actors and musicians singing and narrating the history of local people in the area. Steve Story passed away in July of 2020 but his legacy lives on through honorary concert performances.

What happens when a get-away-driver fails to pick up a couple of bank robbers, and they end up at the local community Cicada Septendecim talent show, along with the local police?”….find out in this year’s Steve Story Honorary Concert titled “They Stole the Show.”

Local musicians, members of the North East Iowa Community Band and actors, singers and performers from the NE Iowa area will present a musical comedy as the audience joins in on some of the numbers.

Following the concert, the Clermont Historical Society will provide refreshments and reception at the Clermont Opera House – one block from the Union Sunday School. The concert and tea are both free.

The annual Union Sunday School Concert Series features performances by trained musicians on the largest Kimball Pipe Organ in the United States. Built-in 1896, the organ was a gift presented by former Iowa Gov. William Larrabee to his daughter, Anna, who was the church’s organist for more than 60 years.
