DES MOINES – One of the freshest musical acts to emerge from the Driftless Area of the upper Midwest will make its musical debut at Montauk this month.

Vocalist Kristin Eggen and keyboardist Ben Hippen will perform as Eggen & Hippen during the Music at Montauk concert series at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, at Montauk, the historic mansion built by former Iowa Gov. William Larrabee and his wife, Anna, near Clermont.

The duo formed in May 2018 and have been making a big impression on audiences with original songs about love and loss, astronomy and pirates, along with songs that address issues of topical and local significance. The duo will release its first studio recording in early 2019.

The concert series is sponsored by the Clermont Historical Society and the State Historical Society of Iowa, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs. More information is available at iowaculture.gov.
