Madison Ihde is a senior Music Education major at Luther College. She was raised in Decorah, Iowa by Scott and Michelle Ihde. Here she attended Decorah Schools where she developed her love for music.
At Luther, Madison has been involved in several ensembles including Luther College Concert Band, Jazz Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and has competed at a the National Trumpet Competition for three years. Being involved in music has taken her around the world from Georgia, Colorado, Texas and even Spain and Austria. After Luther Madison will be student teaching in Band rooms in the Twin Cities and then intends on finding a Band Director position, hopefully teaching beginner band.
CJ Heck is a senior Music and German double major at Luther College. She grew up around the Minneapolis area and studied music at the Perpich Center for Arts Education. Currently, CJ accompanies the Luren Singers under the direction of Dave Judisch, and has worked with countless other groups, such as Luther College’s Collegiate Chorale and Partners in Praise Girls’ Choir. She has also accompanied countless vocal and instrumental soloist recitals and opera scenes productions, as well as given solo recitals of her own. After her time at Luther, she hopes to pursue a career in the field of music management.
The 2019 Music at Montauk series marks the program’s 14th consecutive year of capturing the spirit of parlor concerts that were fashionable in fine homes during the late 1800s to early 1900s. Check out Montauk’s Facebook page for dates and information on upcoming concerts.
