BEST OF THE BYWAY FALL BUS TOUR SET FOR SEPTEMBER 29

September 15, 2021 (Postville, Iowa) — Join Northeast Iowa RC&D for food, fun and all the fall experiences on the River Bluffs Scenic Byway Best of the Byway Fall Bus Tour, set for Wednesday, September 29. This tour is one of four hosted by the Scenic Byways in Northeast and Eastern Iowa and includes a culinary, historic, educational and scenic experience during each event.
The River Bluffs Scenic Byway Best of the Byway Fall Bus Tour kicks off in West Union, Iowa, at Goeken County Park with coffee from Euphoria. The bus will leave at 10 a.m. and hear a short presentation from Fayette County Conservation Director, Rod Marlatt, before arriving at the first stop – Pikes Peak State Park for a scenic photo opportunity as the fall leaves begin changing. Here, guests will enjoy individual charcuterie boards from By The Spoonful. After the appetizer, the bus goes to Elkader for lunch provided by Johnsons Restaurant and Supper Club.
Following lunch, Volga City is next on the trip and will include a brief history on the city of Volga and their newly renovated Opera House. When the bus arrives, guests can take a tour of the property. The bus will then travel to Fayette for a scoop of ice cream from The Sugar Bowl before heading to Heaven Boutique Winery for more scenic views and wine sampling. The tour concludes back at Goeken Park at approximately 5 p.m.

There are four bus tours are open to the public and cost $30/each per person and includes meals, photo opportunities, historic tours and speakers. More details will be shared – including official itineraries, meals and addresses – prior to the event.
